In Memoriam:

Art Goldblatt
Founder & Friend of Grassroots

We salute Arhtur Goldblatt ((1934-2021) in memorandum for creating, heading, fostering, and growing Norwalk Stamford Grassroots Tennis & Education from infancy as a free summer tennis program into a robust year-round tennis & education youth development program entering its 30th year!

Arthur Goldblatt began Grassroots with the idea of providing underserved youth living in the Norwalk Housing Authority properties with opportunities to improve their futures.

“I worked in South Norwalk as a lawyer and I also performed legal services at a local church and saw the need for an outlet for kids,” said Arhtur Goldblatt July 26th, 2005, in the Stamford Advocate.

Relying solely on private monetary and equipment donations the program grew from 10 players to over 560 annually.

Goldblatt said, “One of the nicest things about Norwalk Grassroots Tennis is that a peer group has built up around teenagers who have gotten involved as young players and become coaches, helping youngsters who were like them a few years ago.” in 2001 to the Norwalk Hour.

To date Norwalk Stamford Grassroots Tenns & Education has helped over 7,5000 kids and remains today as fully funded by private donations and foundations.

Help us continue his vision - Donate Today in Honor of Art!
